Mejillones is not just a well-known beach, also popularly called “Popcorn Beach,” but it’s also a renowned big wave surf spot. Boasting some of the largest waves in Fuerteventura, this location is suitable only for experienced surfers.
When other spots on the North Shore offer smaller waves, Mejillones surf spot still provides surfable conditions and can get crowded as a result. The spot performs best in winter with swells from the northwest.
