Flag Beach – Kite Beach

Flag Beach also known as “Kite Beach” is one of the most beautiful beaches in Fuerteventura and is also the main kitesurfing spot on the island. It is located in the north-eastern tip where Corralejo begins. Flag Beach is not only a kitesurfing spot, but is also very popular with wing-foilers and windsurfers. The best winds are from the north and north-west, while when it turns north-east you have to be careful because it could suddenly drop.

Flag Beach is suitable for all levels in summer but best at high and mid tides for the less experienced. In fact, at low tide it changes its appearance with the volcanic rocks that emerge with the retreat of the sea. In winter, swells can create beach breaks that make entering the water challenging. With the big swells from the north-west, waves are formed that run parallel to the coast.

In Flag Beach it is possible to sail all year round but the best time is spring and summer, when the trade winds blow constantly.
