Located at the south-west side of El Cotillo fishing village, it's the typical beach of Fuerteventura's west coast, wide, open to the sea and with strong swell. Approximately 1500 meters long and surrounded with spectacular cliffs, the golden coloured sand must not deflect attention away from his powerful waves and strong current. Considerable care should be taken when going to swim and never do it alone.
Well situated at the top of the cliff, facing south-west and about 1200 meters away from the beach, our webcam in El Cotillo provide a spectacular view of this area.
It's a very popular beach among the windsurfers and kitesurfers for the strong N-E trade winds blowing with regularity in spring and summer time. In autumn and winter, its powerfull waves draw surf enthusiasts from all Europe. The El Cotillo webcam live pictures make it possible to estimate the real time wind and waves conditions on the beach.
Following the dirt track that walks on the coast line in the direction of the south, it is possible to find other beaches with similar characteristics and increasingly desert, like the La Escalera's beach or Esquinzo's beach, and also Tebeto and La Mujer beaches, approaching Tindaya.
