Tierra Dorada is a peaceful beach located in Pájara on the Jandía peninsula. This is the last region of Sotavento before Esquinzo de Butihondo begins, and its name means “golden land” – an apt description, given the colour of its sand.
The beach is covered with pure, glimmering sand and its crystalline waters reflect the sky above, shallow enough that
visitors walk several metres out to sea, where waves are so gentle that you can swim with total confidence. The magical turquoise hue of the water contrasts sharply with its reddish-brown floor with its almost arid texture. A long stretch of fair sand patched with black separates the two, giving a surreal effect.
At Tierra Dorada Beach, tourists can enjoy various facilities including deckchair hire, showers, and a bar-restaurant offering some of the traditional cuisine that makes this such a special place.
Tierra Dorada Beach’s tranquil setting belies its fresh, lively atmosphere; time spent here is serenity itself.
