The beach is mostly made up of small, irregular black stones and the cliffs that enclose the bay. In summer, fine brown sand appears, while the winter tides only leave rocks visible. The currents, wind and waves are very strong, so visitors to the beach must take care. However, surfers – hobbyists and professionals alike – will find these conditions perfect for watersports.
Due to the uneven road, Los Molinos beach is best accessed by off-road (all-terrain) vehicle from the town of Tefia. There are no facilities (showers, parasols, toilets, disabled access, etc.), but there is parking, and a basic but welcoming restaurant – Casa Pon – which is open all year round.
