Garcey Beach is another wonderful beach in northwestern Jandía, Pájara, southwest Fuerteventura. It is famous for the 1994 wreck of the American Star. Tourists flock here in great numbers to see the remains of the huge sunken ship and the stretch of sand by the shore that is revealed at low tide. The beautiful, natural, untouched setting of this beach extends around 400 metres and its black sand, dotted with pebbles and

rocks, is reminiscent of neighbouring beaches providing gorgeous views up and down the coast. Surfers in particular will find favourable conditions here; their height and strength is great for surfing and paddle surfing. Currents are very strong, so swimming is not advised. Garcey Beach is not easily reachable; off-road vehicles are best suited to the job. However, the extraordinary panoramic views and small canyons make the journey here an unforgettable experience in itself.
