El Matorral Beach, also known as Jandía Beach due to its southern coastal location, is situated next to Morro Jable in Pájara – easily reachable by bus from Fuerteventura Airport via the FV-2 road in just over an hour.
The fine golden sands and gentle turquoise waters of this beach make it the tourist beach par excellence of
Fuerteventura, having been awarded the Blue Flag several times thanks to its favourable conditions and high-quality facilities. It also has a vast array of plant life adapted to saltwater; one of the Canaries’ various protected ecosystems.
Matorral beach is around four kilometres long and 120 metres wide and is located near a considerable number of hotels to suit every taste and budget. There are hammock zones, parasols, and restaurants offering both local and international cuisine.
The beach is popular due to its charm and the fact it has lifeguards on duty, bathroom facilities, a nudist area and the opportunity for watersports such as scuba diving and windsurfing.
